Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Manager, Financial Reporting and Analysis to lead the financial and business operations of our manufacturing facility located in West Plains, MO.  This position serves as a strategic partner to plant leadership—driving financial performance, operational efficiency, and business decision-making through data-driven insights and strong leadership.  Responsibilities include overseeing all aspects of site financial control, cost accounting, overhead budget management, and forecasting, while ensuring compliance with corporate policies and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.  This role does not have direct reports but may in the future.  The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated leadership skills and a strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost drivers and performance metrics.   

Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the financial business partner to the Plant Manager and leadership team.
  • Lead the financial planning, cost, ratio and trend analysis, and reporting process for the site, including monthly closings, forecasting, budgeting and analysis.
  • Manage cost accounting activities: standard costing, variance analysis, inventory valuation, and product cost reviews.
  • Overhead budget management
  • Provide strategic insights to improve profitability, reduce waste, and optimize resource utilization.
  • Support capital investment planning and post-project performance analysis.
  • Develop and maintain robust internal controls and drive process improvements.
  • Lead or participate in cross-functional projects related to lean manufacturing, automation, and productivity improvement.
  • Manage the planning, development, and implementation of effective financial strategies, policies, and procedures and recommend improvements.
  • Responsible for the preparation, maintenance, reporting of internal and external financial records and analyses, and compliance with internal procedures and government regulations.  
  • Manage the preparation of daily, monthly, annual, and other periodic financial statements and tax reports
  • Act as a liaison with management regarding rate and budget questions
  • Serve as a liaison between the company and external auditors and regulatory authorities. 
  • Supervise, develop, and mentor site finance staff (if applicable).
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field with 5+ years of financial analyst experience (or equivalent related education and experience)
  • A minimum of 2+ years of demonstrated leadership experience
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, cost drivers, and performance metrics  
  • Proficiency in MRP systems (e.g., Deltek, SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel / financial modeling skills
  • Demonstrated ability to influence and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
  • Results-driven mindset with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement
  • CPA or MBA preferred
