Job Title: Senior Logistics Engineer
Job Location: Lemont Furnace, PA, Columbia, MD or Washington, D.C.
AAC is seeking a mid-level Logistics Engineer with 5-10 years’ experience in supporting large scale programs for the Navy, including program initiation, acquisition and transitioning to lifecycle.
Position Summary
Responsible for analyzing system specifications, technical data, and drawings to determine acquisition, installation, and sustainment requirements to support development of installation, operations, and maintenance products. Coordinate with diverse group of engineers and technical SME’s across multiple disciplines within the DoD enterprise. Desired candidate will have practical experience with acquisition logistics, Alteration Installation Team (AIT) requirements and policies, and Navy modernization. Position requires critical analysis and strong writing skills and the ability to complete activities on time and budget. Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems. Experience with Linux a plus.
Primary and Essential Accountabilities
- Involved with the analysis of projects/contracts to determine logistics requirements
- Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems, and services
- Analyze system/subsystem maintenance requirements at O/I/D levels
- Conduct hardware reliability analysis and sparing calculations based on varied inputs and time distributions
- Synthesize customer specifications, requirements, analysis results to develop installation and test procedures required for system installation
- Support acquisition of hardware and software (or subcontractor services as needed)
- Conduct component analyses for performance, operations, maintenance, installation, and demilitarization
- Responsible for leading group of engineers on technical activity and completion on time and budget
- Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems, or subsystems
- Provide technical knowledge and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
- May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments
- Evaluate program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements and develop design influence recommendations to enhance operational availability and achieve efficiencies
- Develop product support plans for major programs to enhance sustainability of fielded systems
- Provide budget, cost, and schedule input for design assignments
- Develop COA’s to retire key project risks
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
- Participate in preparation of proposals
- Lead and direct the work of others as assigned
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Secondary Accountabilities
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer, or business meetings
- Lead less-experienced engineers
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant/applicable experience in DoD acquisition logistics
- Fluency in technologies and application domain
- Ability to lead a technical group independently
- System Documentation generation experience
- Technical writing

- Concept of Operations (CONOPS) Generation
- Mechanical integration experience
- Winch and handling systems experience

- Acquisition Logistics Support experience
- Navy LMET, STS/STG/DS Level II Maintenance, SIMO experience
Physical Requirements

AAC works on a 9/80 compressed work schedule whereby employees work 80 hours in 2 weeks with every other Friday off.
