Navy Combat Systems Test Engineer IV – Virginia Beach, VA
Opportunity Summary
Will support the Training and Readiness (T&R) Test and Evaluation (T&E) support requirements associated with the Battle Force Tactical Training (BFTT) and Advanced Training Domain (ATD) programs.
Will be involved with the design and development of test programs to measure the functionality and integrity of products and services, the writing of test procedures and protocols to assess product reliability and evaluate the ability of products to meet performance standards and specifications, and the debugging test hardware and software.

Job Responsibilities

Primary & Essential Accountabilities
•    Develop a variety of Functional Operability Test (FOT) Procedures for S/W build as changes to the s/w are implemented.
•    Perform Test and Evaluation activities with new and previous builds as the build is integrated with a given Combat System.
•    Support AIE, System Test, and Combat System Test (CST) training test activities which evaluate performance of T&R Software Builds as they are integrated with a combat system.
•    Analyze T&R performance as it relates to testing conducted with the T&R s/w build and the integration with the combat system.

Qualification Requirements
•    Ten years of full-time professional experience; five years of which must have been in support of a major shipboard combat and/or training system. Experience managing a diverse team providing quality independent verification and validation (IV&V) expertise in the following areas:
o    Test Planning of complex operational and engineering interoperability test composed of components Navy, Joint and Coalition and any variation
o    System Engineering & Verification and validation Test development
o    Integration and Interoperability Assessment and Certification testing
•    Bachelors degree in an engineering discipline and six years full-time professional experience working as a Systems Engineer in at least one major shipboard, non-propulsion electronic subsystem at the system level. Two (2) years must have been full-time experience at the system level as defined above.
•    Active U.S. Government Department of Defense (DoD) Secret or higher level security clearance 

Qualification Preferences
•    Technical writing and editing skills
•    Knowledge of and experience with AEGIS and SSDS combat system software and equipment and preferably training systems such as BFTT or ATD (This includes a working knowledge of Navigation, Sensor, Weapons Systems, Electronic emission systems.)
•    Knowledge and experience with software development cycles in an Agile software development environment
•    Knowledge of networks and network topology; specifically DIS and HLA protocols and IP addressing schema
•    Experience and knowledge of MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, Power Point) used to develop procedures, spreadsheets, and presentation material
•    Some programming language experience (C++, SQL) 
•    Previous COMSEC experience
•    Completion of required Department of Defense (DoD) courses related to government security
