Reporting to the Manager of Finance, the Junior Accounting Clerk will perform a variety of accounting tasks including accounts payable processing for a subset of the DRS business unit, preparing journal entries, analyzing data, preparing reports and reconciling intercompany transactions.


Major Roles and Accountabilities:

General Accounting Support

  • Perform general financial support within the Finance Team including:
    • Monthly financial close activities;
    • Preparation of month end journal entries; and
    • Data input and other General Ledger account analysis.


Accounts Payable:

  • Voucher invoices to ERP system (CostPoint);
  • Prepare and process wire requests; and
  • Issue weekly cheque runs and match vouchered invoices to cheques and receiving documentation.



Core Competencies:

  • Possession of a diploma with a focus in accounting from a recognized post-secondary institution is considered an asset;
  • Two (2) years of experience in a similar role;
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles and methodologies;
  • Proficient in the utilization of the Microsoft Office Suite specifically MS Excel;
  • Prior experience with integrated MRP accounting software is desirable;
  • Strong time management, communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills; and
  • Eligible to meet Controlled Goods Clearance and Canadian security clearance requirements.
