Job Summary

Obtain full knowledge of the Engineering Change Order (ECO) Process and ECO Execution Process. Understand the inputs and outputs of the Configuration Control Board (CCB) to ensure business needs are met and proper risk analysis is being considered. Design, develop and establish highly complex data management documentation based on program requirements and awareness of downstream effects to Purchasing, Operations and Field Service to ensure proper documentation and historical record is retained. Schedule and facilitate Configuration Control Board (CCB) meetings making sure that the change proceeds in a timely fashion and look for opportunities to combine ECOs. Review ECO implementation status with CCB to ensure Integrated Project Team (IPT) is aware of the impact of untimely execution.

Prepare performance metrics within the scope of Engineering Design Documentation. Assist other departments, customers and vendors with preparation of document packages when needed. Provide backup support to other document coordinators and occasional support to special project or proposal development teams using MS Word and Excel. May assist with internal or external business audits.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with limited supervision to process Engineering Change documentation on schedule with a critical focus on timeliness, accuracy, and completeness. Show excellent teamwork in support of customer needs for quality work products and on-time deliveries across multiple projects and sites. Demonstrate creativity, energy, and the ability to plan, manage, and communicate progress on assignments.
  • Design, develop and establish highly complex data management documentation based on program requirements. 
  • May lead the development, implementation, and maintenance of configuration management systems
  • Participate in design review, audits, schedules, etc.
  • Utilize product data management tools
  • Prepare contract data item submittals to established delivery schedules
  • Provide high level support to the Product Data Manager and engineering technical staff
  • Independent preparation and submittal of contract data 
  • Review contract data requirements and establish data schedules in accordance with requirements
  • Assist engineering technical staff in the decision process required for configuration management
  • May prepare and present status of configuration plan and schedule in customer meetings
  • Participate in the development of plans and procedures regarding configuration management
  • Prepare cost estimates with supervision
  • Provide training to staff in the use of configuration management tools
  • Support the analysis of proposed design changes to determine the effect on the overall system; recommend methods of improvement 
  • Participate in special assignments or projects 
  • Act as liaison between functional groups 
  • May supervise work product of other less experienced employees
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Provide support to formal configuration management activities such as Physical Configuration Audits
  • Provide support to the preparation of Technical Data Package delivery
  • Complete assigned tasks on time and meet technical requirements
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
     

Qualifications

  • Relevant experience in the field of Product Data Management. 
  • Highly developed understanding of engineering or manufacturing technical data packages. 
  • Demonstrated proficiency regarding configuration management principles.
  • Demonstrates the ability to review engineering technical data for completeness and correctness. 
  • General computer skills with developed familiarity with product data management tools.  
  • Detail oriented individual
  • Experience with CAD data systems desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field (CAD data systems)
