Job Summary

Join our Menomonee Falls, WI Engineering team as a Principal Mechanical Engineer. We are looking for someone to take on a technical leadership role in projects which covers a variety of activities including design, packaging, component placement, cooling, and shock isolation for various naval power electronics assemblies.

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for driving technology and completion of activity on time and budget
  • Ability to complete a technical project independently and mentor and coach other engineers
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and develop designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable  
  • Document component and subsystem specifications and material requirements
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
  • Develop prototypes to retire key development risks
  • Communicate clearly with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required
  • Participates heavily in preparation of the more complex and significant proposals

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field
  • 10+ years relevant experience with design and packaging of medium to large power electronics or conversion systems
  • Understanding of vibration, acoustics, and thermal analysis for high power electronics packaging to meet military environments
  • Experience with 3-D CAD, thermal modeling, simulation and analysis with CFD packages
  • 3D CAD experience, NX preferred
  • Knowledgeable of design/production of bus bars, aluminum and steel enclosures
  • Design optimization of noise, thermal, and EMI design parameters

U.S. Citizenship required.
