Job Summary

Senior Program Manager will construct, lead and execute plans for offset requirements in the UAE (United Arab Emirates) in country for a period  of 1-2 years. The Project Manager shall be familiar with the use electro-optical equipment and the use of small arms and crew served systems. The candidate shall be familiar with the use and general construction of thermal weapon sites both cooled and uncooled. The SR Program Manager will provide leadership with planning setting up a depot, assembly and test area in the UAE Center of Excellence for one or moreof the products mentioned above. The SR Project Manager will interface with local companies and organizations in the UAE and explore possible in country sources of supply for components and assemblies for weapon sites and driver's visual aid systems. The candidate  will supply Customer training on the small arms and weapon sights and driver's visual aid systems for both International and domestic customers.
The candidate will provide a support role on trials and business capture by providing weapon sight demonstrations and product training support. The candidate will manage CAPEX, and Project budgets in support of the product transitions, captures, trials, depot, and build projects in country (UAE.)

 

Job Responsibilities

Construct and lead projects pertaining to an in-country depot/repair facility for the Weapon Sights and driver's visual aid systems.

Provide interface, communication and coordination with internal and external customers on matters pertaining to existing weapon sights, repair and bid and proposal activities.

Ensure that the requirements of customer request for repair are met from a user and technical perspective in the preparation of user manuals, and documentation of assembly, test and repair.

Represent DRS at customer meetings, seminars, trade shows, trials, etc.

Develop and implement plans for trials, training, and develops schedules to execute in country repair and build plans.  

Allocate and control project budgets for labor, material, travel, CAPEX and purchased services to construct depot and repair facility in country (UAE.) Report project budget status to senior management on a monthly basis.

Seek senior management assistance in resolving schedule and budget problems as they arise.

Monitor and provide possible paths to improvements of weapon sight functionality and shooter usability based on customer feedback.

Verify that the plan and requirements are executed per appropriate regulations and contractual   requirements.

Identify and manage risk throughout the project.

Qualifications

Willing to live in country in the UAE for a period of 1-2 years.

Familiar with small arms, crew served systems and Driver Visual Enhancement systems, and the use and general construction thermal weapon sites both cooled and uncooled. 

Weapons Certification a plus. 

Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business, Program or Project management or Supply Chain Management.

Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience

Knowledge of Program Management tools and procedures

PMP certification a plus.

Demonstrated Project Management experience in a relevant situation

Experience in use of ballistic calculators, drop charts as well as coefficient calculations based on velocity data a plus

Experience with supply chain activities (procurement) pertaining to support of in country repair and depot activities.

Experience with International business capture and ITAR regulations a must
