Job Summary
Responsible for supervising a team of software verification engineers, designers, and technicians, including direct contribution to development of technical solutions, software test frameworks, test plans, test scenarios, test applications and test products. Will collaborate with development teams. Exemplifies the DRS Way by promoting a culture of integrity, accountability, results driven, collaborative relationships and continuous improvement.
Job Responsibilities
Manage a team of software verification engineers, designers, and technicians
At least 70% of time will be allocated to technical solutions and products
Lead/contribute to a project team, a tiger team, or a process improvement initiative
Recommend verification resource assignments
Evaluate/recommend engineering tools
Develop test plan and implement test scenarios
Lead/contribute to software verification solutions and products
Design, analyze, integrate, test, and document software test cases for the purpose of systems or subsystems verification
Analyze software requirements to determine feasibility of verification and validation within time and cost constraints
Provide technical guidance and oversight to include concept development and peer/design review participation
Support verification testing, transition to production, and field issue resolution
Provide process compliance and tailoring guidance
Lead/contribute to Value Engineering and issue resolution teams
Support manpower assessment and planning
Support recruiting/hiring efforts
Provide budget, cost, and schedule input
Participate in proposals
Provide career/training guidance to direct reports
Manage employee performance of direct reports
Identify functional needs/gaps
Mentor engineers/designers
Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Support/develop environment of collaboration with developers and Product Owners
Development of automation frameworks
Development of test cases using automated frameworks
Support/develop capabilities for parallel testing in a CI/CD environment
Setup and maintain dashboards for reporting test results
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in software, engineering, or related technical field
Minimum of 7+ years of experience, preferably in a government contracts environment, with at least 3 years' leadership experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education and experience
Experience in test method definition and execution
Experience in functional decomposition for verification method
Strong Systems Engineering process and discipline
Demonstrated leadership of a technical team
Experience planning development tasks (labor estimates, schedule creation)
Foundation supporting growth into functional management (awareness of business needs, process understanding, driven to improve technical and performance at the functional level)
Previous experience in a CI/CD environment
