We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Electrical Engineer to join our innovative and collaborative Land Electronics team located in Melbourne, FL. and Huntsville, AL. What You Will Do
- Interpret electrical schematics and develop complex PCBs designs in support of engineering while adhering to industry standards. May include Hardware, Power Engineering, Power Electronic Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering, Integrated Circuit Engineering, Components or others. Analyze, develop and recommend design approaches.
- Design of advanced multilayer PCB Designs and layout with Cadence Allegro PCB Editor utilizing Constraint Manager to ensure PCB designs meet performance requirements
Ensure generation of detailed and accurate documentation for complex printed circuit boards conforming to applicable IPC and DRS standards - Lead/attend initial and ongoing design reviews
- Work with and support the SI/PI Analysis team to perform analysis on complex PCB Designs
- Responsible for working with our vendors to understand latest technology and completion of activity on time and budget
- Ability to complete projects independently or with limited management support
- Provide budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
- Document component and subsystem specifications and PCB design material requirements
- Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
- Support the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, program management and the customer as required
- Participate/support the preparation of the more complex and significant proposals BOE (Basis of Estimate) efforts
- Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
- Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress
- Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
- May mentor and coach the work of others as assigned
- Work with vendors to answer TQ (Technical questions)
- Support continuous process improvement efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- PCB design with a minimum of 20 years of experience
- SI/PI analysis experience using HyperLynx and/or Cadence
- Cadence Allegro and Mentor experience preferred
- Prior aerospace and defense industry engineering experience a plus
- Current working experience with Valor and CAM350 is preferred
- Knowledge of Empower or similar PLM release systems
