Job Summary

Leonardo DRS' Manufacturing Engineering team in Melbourne, FL will have several opportunities for interns. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform professional administrative work of an introductory nature in preparation for career advancement
  • Perform entry-level professional administrative staff duties in support of functional areas, gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility
  • Project a professional company image through in-person and phone interaction
  • Type and word-process draft documents and electronic information
  • Prepare routine reports with guidance
  • Manage, organize, and update relevant data using database applications
  • Assist in arranging meetings, conferences, and project team activities
  • Adhere to procedures relating to the proper use and care of equipment and materials
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Job Responsibilities Part II

  • Internship opportunity 1
    • SharePoint Expert: Intern will update the Manufacturing Engineering SharePoint site. This will include overall layout to match current organization structure, as well as completing the Help Ticket system implementation.
  • Internship Opportunity 2
    • Interns with Industrial Engineering or Mechanical Engineering background: Interns will be responsible for Process Plan Audits and for time studies. This will include a full walkthrough of Process Plans to defining drawings and coordinating taking the time studies for the many subassemblies.​​​​​​​

 

Qualifications

  • Student enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineer, Industrial Engineering or related field
  • GPA of 3.0 or greater
  • Junior, Senior and recent graduate (within 1-year) standing required
  • Ability to communicate successfully orally and in writing
  • Ability to efficiently utilize standard office software and computer equipment
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
