The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA.  EOIS develops, manufactures, and supports infrared and electro-optical solutions for soldiers, ground vehicles and airborne platforms.  We offer an exciting and challenging work environment, a competitive salary and benefits package, and a business culture that rewards performance.

Job Responsibilities

•    Lead and develop a team of remote buyers, fostering a collaborative and performance-driven culture.
•    Oversee all aspects of procurement, ensuring quality, timely delivery, and budget compliance for assigned categories.
•    Establish and strengthen relationships with key suppliers to ensure optimal pricing, on-time delivery and quality.
•    Utilize data analytics to monitor purchasing metrics, identify trends, and recommend process improvements, driving efficiency and cost savings.
•    Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, and planning teams to address supply chain challenges.
•    Stay informed on industry regulations, including DoD, ITAR, EAR, FAR, and DFARS, ensuring compliance in all procurement activities.
•    Prepare and present reports to senior management, outlining key metrics, challenges, and opportunities.

Qualifications

•    Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree or relevant certification (e.g., APICS, ISM) is a plus.
•    Minimum of 7 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management in the aerospace or defense industry.
•    Proven leadership abilities with experience managing remote teams effectively, emphasizing influence management and conflict resolution.
•    Comprehensive understanding of supply chain management principles, tools, and procurement software (e.g., CostPoint, SAP, Oracle).
•    Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable terms and conditions.
•    Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
•    Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
•    Strong customer focus and commitment to supporting the mission and values of the company.

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
