Job Summary

Outstanding opportunity to join the Land Electronics financial planning team in Melbourne, FL as a Financial Reporting Analyst!

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for various moderately complex financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting and analysis
  • Collect and review financial data from various sources
  • Create, maintain, and update financial databases and spreadsheets, and generate various financial reports as required (ad hoc as well as monthly, quarterly and annual)
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation
  • Make recommendations to management to improve the financial performance of the organization. Respond to rate and budget questions and provide explanations to ensure management understanding
  • Identify and resolve moderately complex problems as well as to prevent future problems
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as FAR and other government regulations
  • Participate in audits and interface with government auditors to ensure understanding of financial data, methodology and applicability under appropriate government regulations
  • Interface with internal departments and the DCAA in moderately complex auditing assignments
  • Participate in team efforts to improve functioning of the department
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Prepare and file financial statements to regulators and financial executives of parent company.  Perform financial analyses and generate reports and recommendations for management review.  Create reports for Board of Directors and other stakeholders
  • Advise senior management on changes to financial reporting requirements
  • Study trends and reports on depreciation, working capital, investments, rates of return, and financial and expense comparisons based on profit and loss statements and income statements
  • Attend appropriate business meetings and other financial reporting duties as required

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance with 2+ years of directly related experience including a thorough knowledge of FAR and other applicable government regulations (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience)
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • MS Office experience (intermediate level Excel and PowerPoint required).
