Job Summary

Excellent opportunity to join the Land Electronics inspection team in Melbourne, FL and create organizational value as a CMM Programmer in receiving inspection. 

What You Will Do:

  • Perform complex inspection activities, to assess conformance of products to the design as defined by the engineering drawings and/or models 
  • May serve as team lead for lower-level inspectors
  • Inspect products, components, subassemblies, and/or systems to ensure conformance to requirements
  • Add organizational value by implementing innovative solutions and best practices involved in all processes of the product realization value stream 
  • Support Quality Engineers with identifying non-conforming conditions that present existing or impending defective conditions at the system or subsystem level of assembly
  • Oversee the preparation of inspection plans and checklists for inspections
  • Responsible for orienting and training lower-level inspectors
  • Aid with data collection and root cause analysis investigations
  • Generate discrepancy notices and initiate Material Review Board actions
  • Perform material movement transactions after completing inspection process
  • Specialize in receiving inspection, in-process inspection, process verification/auditing, final inspection, etc
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
     

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Proficient in operating and programming CMM (PCDMIS C++).
  • Able to inspect and interpret GD&T per ASME Y14.5.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, material certifications and specifications.
  • Experience with CMM Inspection of complex mechanical and Electromechanical Components, with 2+ years in CMM Inspection and Programming in related manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in training and mentoring on CMM use with ability to develop training materials.
  • Familiar with defense industry standards (eg. AS9100, AS9102, ISO 9001)
  • Skilled in reviewing FAIRs from Suppliers.
  • Accurate and detailed data entry into ERP system (eg. Costpoint, oracle)
  • Working knowledge of IP-A-610, IPC-WHMA-620, and ANSI Z1.4 Sampling standards.
  • Ability to work cross functionally with Engineering and Supplier Quality Groups.
  • Ability to use various measurement devices (calipers, pin gauges, go/no-go gauges, etc) to verify mechanical part compliance 
  • Experience reading mechanical drawings and able to verify parts dimensions against drawing requirements
  • Able to work 5:30am - 3:00pm (9/80 schedule)
