Job Summary

We're hiring a Financial Reporting Manager (FP&A) experienced in backward planning and financial reporting to manage a small virtual team.  This role will provide financial reporting and analysis within a matrixed environment.  May be home- or office-based near any of the following locations: Germantown, MD, Beavercreek, OH, Fort Walton Beach, FL, or Palm Bay, FL.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the direct management of a financial analysis staff engaged in various financial functions such as budgeting, auditing, forecasting and analysis
  • Act as a liaison with management regarding rate and budget questions
  • Responsible for all backward planning and financial reporting in support of meeting all deadlines
  • Responsible for aggregating Cash Forecasting and Analysis, monthly, quarterly and annually from all business units
  • Performs income sheet and balance sheet variance analysis, i.e., budget versus actuals, marginal analysis, etc.
  • Ensure compliance with internal procedures, DAR/FAR government regulations and GAAP
  • May act as liaison between the company and various government agencies during audits, ensuring understanding of financial data, methodology and applicability under appropriate government regulations
  • Responsible for the employment, training, motivation and discipline of direct reports (may include support and/or professional staff members)
  • Prepare and file, on a timely basis, financial statements to regulators and financial executives of parent company.  Perform financial analyses and generate reports and recommendations for management review.  Create reports for Board of Directors and other stakeholders
  • Advise senior management on changes to financial reporting requirements
  • Study trends and reports on depreciation, working capital, investments, rates of return, and financial and expense comparisons based on profit and loss statements and income statements
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Perform Ad Hoc Analysis
  • Collaborate with business unit’s accounting teams and Program finance teams to support division and company initiatives 
  • Perform Ad Hoc Analysis as needed

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance with 5+ years of financial analysis experience (or equivalent related education and experience)
  • Previous supervisory experience and leadership skills, preferably with a virtual team
  • Solid reporting and financial analysis abilities
  • Exemplary communication skills
  • Understanding of scheduling and backward planning
  • Must be self motivated, detail oriented, and an effective multi-tasker
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and experience with Hyperion (ideal), ESSBASE, Costpoint, or other EPM software 
  • Knowledge of SOX compliance preferred
  • *This position has the option of being either fully onsite, partly remote (onsite Tues-Thurs), or fully remote based on preference.  Candidate must live within commuting distance of the one of the following facilities regardless of choice: Germantown, MD, Beavercreek, OH, Fort Walton Beach, FL, or Palm Bay, FL.
