Job Summary

DRS Daylight Solutions is seeking a Production Planner and Control to support our scheduling and material analysis coordination with our Production Operations department. The Production Planner and Control position will play a critical role in ensuring efficient production flow, accurate scheduling, precise materials analysis and on-time delivery to customers. The candidate will create, own, and manage the Master Production Schedule (MPS) based on production capacity, materials readiness, and labor availability. 

 

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the DRS Daylight organization and develop and implement Planning practices that support Daylight’s mission and growth.  

Job Responsibilities

  • Accountable to manage the end-to-end production plan for assigned scope, ensuring alignment with MRP requirements, capacity constraints, and customer delivery commitments
  • Lead production review meetings and actively drive discussions on Build Plan status, constraints, and recovery planning
  • Plan and release Work Orders based on Sales Order and forecast.  Keep constant pulse on Work In Process (WIP) movement throughout the factory
  • Leverage shipping and track performance in dashboard to review; escalate issues when product does not meet customer commitment
  • Prepare scheduling reports, KPIs, and status updates for operations leadership
  • Interface with Production, Supply Chain, Sales, Warehouse, Engineering, and Finance to maintain the Internal Operating Plan (IOP)
  • Create dashboard reports to show actual shipments against forecast
  • Work closely with manufacturing to establish and evolve a stable manufacturing schedule to account for yield rates, Kanban flows, and non-conformance disposition in production scheduling
  • Responsible for rescheduling daily delivery requirements if problems require a plan to meet internal needs and contractual obligations
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement initiatives (process, system, or data quality) to enhance planning efficiency and accuracy

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience
  • Solid understanding of business processes and functional inter-relationships
  • Strong background in project material management
  • Extensive experience in production planning
  • Skilled in the use of Excel, Excel Pivot Tables, Power Point, Word, as well as Sharepoint
  • Excellent understanding of MRP systems
     

 

The salary range for this position is $72,654/year- $103,895. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
