Job Summary
As a Manufacturing Technician II, you will provide technical support to engineers on complex components, processes and/or equipment. You will assist in the design, development, prototyping, and testing of new laser systems and devices, assist in production equipment and process troubleshooting and streamlining to meet our production ramp requirements and create and document product, assembly, and process procedures.
Job Responsibilities
- Incoming inspection and acceptance testing of components
- Participate in production activities including the assembly and testing of laser systems and subcomponents
- Determine causes of process inefficiencies and provide recommendations for improvements
- Provide technical support to engineers and scientists on complex components, devices, material, products, processes and/or equipment
- Able to work independently
- Comfortable with the shop/laboratory and equipment
- Work from complex process followers and drawings, operation sheets, engineering specifications and sketches
- Interpret and follow written documents such as SOPs and safety rules
- Ensure compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements applicable to the company in accordance with state and federal regulations and any applicable certification required to maintain the certification
- Interface with other departments to assure efficient flow of information and materials
- Assist the engineering team in documenting the process and process performance, creating / updating SOPs, SPC charts etc.
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
The ideal candidate would have:
- Experience handling and using basic hand-tools and using multimeters or oscilloscopes
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing or installing complex manufacturing equipment
- Ability to create clear and concise documents for things such as work instructions preferred
- Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics preferred
- Flexibility to work OT to meet production demand and company goals
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or 2+ years equivalent combination of education and experience

- Must demonstrate strong decision-making and leadership skills
- Experienced handling small delicate components, using ESD practices
- Soldering and wirebonding experience a plus
- Must be experienced in the safe handling of chemicals
- Experienced in the use of various computer applications, including Access, Excel, and Labview
- Experience with MRP a plus
- Must have good mechanical skills
