DRS Marlo Coil manufactures robust heat transfer, refrigeration, and air handling equipment for industrial, commercial, utility and marine markets.  Our custom engineered heat transfer solutions are used in a variety of configurations to cool, heat, and dehumidify air streams for process and building comfort.  We pride ourselves on having equipment on most surface combatant ships and submarines in the U.S. Navy fleet.  Additionally, DRS Marlo Coil is positioned for significant growth in the Industrial/Commercial markets.

Job Location:  High Ridge, MO

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop and conduct the evaluation and implementation of new initiatives and business opportunities for the Company under direction of the senior business development leader or site leader
  • Provide strategic and tactical input to the business development leader by evaluating new initiatives and business opportunities
  • Conduct market analysis, and competitive activity
  • Prepare key proposals acting as Capture Manager
  • Identify and explore customer needs
  • Monitor standard product price lists to maintain acceptable margins
  • Provide assistance in the planning, designing, and implementing of business plans
  • Assist with the follow through and deployment of the Company's vision, strategies, and tactics
  • Coordinate and facilitate activities and commitments with other departments and/or functions
  • Develop and track project schedules
  • Participate/coordinate in strategic alliances and other external business relationships
  • Manage Business Development staff
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Make presentations on Company portfolio of products and services
  • Attend business meetings as requested
  • Attend trade shows

Job Responsibilities Part II

  • Generate Price-To-Win analysis for key pursuits
  • Forecast burden rates using annual updates from Finance
  • Work with contracts staff to evaluate customer terms and conditions
  • Track proposal activity and key captures using available tools
  • Prepare bid review packages in accordance with company policy


  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
  • Experience in the U.S. defense contracting market, preferably with the U.S. Navy
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, written and presentation communication skills
  • Planning and organization, project management, and time management skills
  • Ability to work on complex problems
  • Knowledge of Company products, markets and technology
  • Strong analytical and financial skills
  • Experience in Defense Market, preferably US Navy 
  • Contracts and/or Program Management experience
  • Familiarity with defense shipbuilding market
