Job Summary

RADA DRS in Germantown, MD, is seeking a full time Facilities Technician with 7+ years of facilities experience to support building operations, perform routine and corrective maintenance, and coordinate timely resolution of facility issues in a safety-focused environment. 

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day facilities maintenance and operational support for office, lab, and test areas, including HVAC support and general building maintenance
  • Support specialized test infrastructure including anechoic chambers, thermal and environmental chambers, and vibration test equipment
  • Perform basic electrical and mechanical troubleshooting; support power distribution, equipment support, and cable management/lab infrastructure
  • Execute preventive maintenance (PM) activities; maintain accurate PM records and service documentation
  • Coordinate and oversee vendors/contractors (HVAC, electrical, specialty), including scopes of work, quotes, scheduling, and service-level follow-up; interface with building ownership/property management
  • Maintain clean, organized mechanical and lab spaces; follow all safety procedures for tools, equipment, and materials/chemicals
  • Support safety inspections and maintain compliance with applicable building codes and regulations
  • Own workspace/cubicle assignments and coordinate employee moves and reconfigurations as requested by management
  • Provide project coordination support for capital work, renovations, and site changes (timelines, stakeholders, budgets, and status updates)
  • Coordinate with Landlord for facilities requests from internal stakeholders and ensure requests are complete in a timely manner.

Qualifications

 

  • High School or Trade School diploma; prefer license in specific specialty with 7+ years of experience
  • Solid working knowledge of building codes, OSHA requirements, and knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures
  • Strong working knowledge of building systems: HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, access control, fire/life safety
  • Experience supporting commercial/industrial environments; lab/test support experience preferred
  • Proven vendor/contractor management experience (SOWs, quotes, renewals, performance tracking)
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills (work orders, logs, compliance records, asset lists, invoices, POs)
  • Professional communication and customer service mindset; able to work effectively with employees, leadership, vendors, and internal partners

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

The salary range for this position is $62,774-$89,766. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
