Job Summary

DRS Signal Solutions is looking for 2022 Technical Interns in our Germantown, MD office. Our Internship programs are designed for those with an interest in Hardware Development, FPGA/Programmable Logic, Software Development, RF/Analog Engineering and Test & Evaluation and Test Development. Engineering Interns must be enrolled in an accredited degree program in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or other related scientific or technical discipline and should be going into their Softmore year or higher with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  This internship is for up to 40 hours per week for up to 90 days (some flexibility on dates and hours depending on student needs).  Plus, we work a 9/80 work schedule (every other Friday off).

Job Responsibilities

  • Gather, assemble, and analyze analog and digitized RF data
  • Execute testing and evaluation for board and module RF units
  • Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers
  • Gather and assemble data for engineers
  • May be required to help in research in a particular field
  • Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company’s Product Lines
  • Assist engineers with appropriate design details
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering staff, methods, programs and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Must currently be enrolled in an accredited Engineering degree program or related scientific or technical discipline with at least 1 year complete (rising Sophomore-Senior)
  • 3.0 GPA or higher both overall and in major
  • Relevant course studies may include: Elementary filter designs, introduction to computer programming, communication systems, Electromagnetic courses
  • Basic scripting skills using Python
  • Basic networking skills
  • Basic database understanding and exposure
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Must be diligent, hardworking, and quick to learn
