Job Summary

Join our dynamic radar defense company as a Data Engineer and launch your career at the forefront of mission-critical systems development. We are seeking a motivated early-career engineer who is eager to learn, collaborate, and contribute to meaningful, real-world solutions.

In this role, you will work alongside experienced developers and data scientists who will mentor you in the preparation, validation, and documentation of time-series and geospatial datasets for cutting-edge AI/ML applications. You will operate within a collaborative, ego-free culture that values technical rigor, clear communication, and results over hierarchy.

Working at the intersection of radar technology and defense applications, you will have the opportunity to rapidly expand your skills as our company evolves from startup-level agility to enterprise-grade processes. You will gain hands-on experience with modern data science practices and learn how to work effectively with major defense contractors—while making a tangible impact in a highly consequential domain.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career STEM graduate to work closely with ML engineers in a technically rigorous environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare, clean, and structure time-series and geospatial datasets for machine learning workflows
  • Perform feature preparation including temporal alignment, resampling, lag features, and spatial associations
  • Ensure datasets are free from common ML issues such as misaligned timestamps, or invalid labels
  • Validate data quality through consistency checks, anomaly detection, and edge-case analysis
  • Document dataset assumptions, preprocessing steps, and known limitations for ML handoff
  • Support ML engineers during model development, assessment, and deployment
  • Collaborate with team members using notebooks and version-controlled workflows

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a STEM discipline (e.g., engineering, computer science, physics, applied mathematics, statistics, geoscience, or related field)
  • Strong proficiency in Python, particularly for data analysis and preprocessing
  • Ability to reason through data problems using a structured, analytical approach
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or be willing to learn: Matlab, R, SQL, or Redis
  • Exposure to geospatial data concepts
  • Prior use of notebooks or collaborative data environments
  • Familiarity with Databricks and/or Azure
