Job Summary

We're looking for a hands-on technical manager to lead our Manufacturing and Test Equipment team in Fort Walton Beach, FL.  The Senior Manager, Manufacturing and Test Equipment Engineering is a driver of proactive processes and procedures that enable the Mission Assurance team members to be successful in providing the latest technological advances to our Customers. In this role you will work directly with Engineering to help determine and derive the functional requirements necessary to integrate and test circuit card assemblies, LRUs, and mechanical assemblies while capitalizing on opportunities for efficiencies, driving out cost, schedule and defects. The successful candidate will develop an organization to provide the testing methodology, tooling, labor standards, and processes to ensure compliance to schedule, cost and quality in fast paced environment. This will be accomplished by working in a collaborative environment with the functional leaders across the organization in an empowered, process driven culture.
 

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage a team that is responsible and accountable for the test equipment engineering and manufacturing engineering activities within a manufacturing organization
  • Implement and maintain policies and procedures for designing, developing and implementing test equipment and requirements, calibration systems and requirements, labor standards, process efficiencies and analytics to best support the program
  • Ensure all equipment engineering projects, initiatives, and processes comply with established policies and objectives
  • May act as lead design and developer of manufacturing test systems for performance testing of products for product acceptance
  • May act or consult on software development and debugging of test systems in multiple software tools. Review detail designs to create test requirements.
  • Responsible for holding the team accountable to developing engineering test plans in accordance with engineering requirements for functional testing
  • Manage budget, cost and schedule input for design assignments
  • Drive the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements to provide the most efficient manner to achieve delivery
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • Responsible for the preparation of proposal labor, test equipment, and resource allocation for proposals including make/buy assessments
  • Perform design reviews with their team and engage in proactive action item resolution
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related technical field with a minimum of 7 years of direct test equipment experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong technical background in circuit card and LRU assembly, test and integration
  • Proven management and leadership skills
  • Experienced with LabVIEW, Python, C++, and/or Java
  • Proven history of leading change through engineering and operations teams
