Job Summary

Ensure regular and preventive maintenance work assignments are completed when required, specific to HVAC trade and other

Job Responsibilities

 

Set up, maintain and repair HVAC/other equipment and/or systems within the facility

Follow maintenance schedule to ensure regular and preventive maintenance work assignments are completed when required

Perform service calls, repairs, and equipment installations as directed

Perform troubleshooting, diagnostic evaluations, and routine inspections on physical HVAC plant systems and equipment as required

Maintain an inventory of parts and tools, and keep assigned storage areas clean and organized

Follow company and departmental policies, procedures, and guidelines in daily work routines and assignments

Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures

Complete appropriate paperwork in a proper manner for the purchase, stocking, and/or use of all materials, parts, and components required for work order completion

Ensure work orders contain appropriate and accurate information before submitting completed work orders

May lead less experience employees

Recommends cost savings strategies and techniques that will not compromise quality and individual safety

Support and communicate the mission, values and culture of the organization

 

 

Qualifications

High school or trade school diploma; prefer additional HVAC trade qualifications

Minimum 5 years HVAC technician installation and repair experience

Working knowledge of building codes, OSHA requirements and knowledge of safe working techniques and procedures

Good oral and written communication skills

 

ADDITIONAL TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS and ATTRIBUTES

Perform a variety of complex/advanced mechanical/electrical tasks.

Perform low/medium voltage control troubleshooting.

Repair, install, replace HVAC/other equipment and appliances.

Use of hand tools and testing instruments.

Inspect and test varying equipment.

Isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors and other equipment using testing instruments.

Dismantle machinery and replace defective electrical/mechanical parts.

Mount motors, transformers and other fixtures into position.

Inspect completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes.

Estimate material costs on HVAC projects.

Must hold EPA Universal Refrigerant certification card.
