Job Summary

The successful candidate will gain experience in the mechanical design and manufacturability of large rotating power equipment and specific components. This position will involve working with engineers and Shop Floor personnel on both military and industrial equipment such as steam turbines, gas turbine generator sets, permanent magnet motors for industrial and ship propulsion applications and other large power equipment. This position will work with the process design, tooling development and process documentation for New Product Development and Continuous Improvement changes. Co-op from January - August 2026.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Work closely with and assist manufacturing engineers in the conduct of various assignments
  • Carry out basic work instructions that will help in understanding the fundamentals of the Company and also learn new things
  • Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of manufacturing engineers
  • Complete assigned tasks on time
  • Gather and assemble data for manufacturing engineers
  • Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
  • Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the team, methods, programs and practices
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Sophomore, Junior or Senior Mechanical Engineering Technology / CAD Drafting Design student / Manufacturing Engineering / Operations or related discipline.
  • Familiarity with ASME Y14 Standards, tolerancing, etc.
  • GPA 2.75 or higher
  • Working knowledge of MS Office
  • Self-starter and independent working attributes are essential
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments effectively
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Interest in developing design skills with large power equipment
  • Previous hands on machining or assembly experience strongly preferred

 

The salary range for this position is $43,926-$62,814.  This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
