Job Summary
Leonardo DRS is seeking a Senior Test Engineering Manager to lead and grow a high-performing Test Engineering organization supporting complex defense and commercial nuclear electronic systems. This role is responsible for oversight of test methodologies, test fixture design and deployment, test execution, and test reports across multiple customer programs.
The ideal candidate is both a strong people leader and a technically credible engineer who can drive accountability, improve processes, and ensure high-quality execution in a fast-paced, mission-critical environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Acquire, lead, mentor, and develop a team of Test Engineers
- Define and execute test strategies across development, qualification, verification, and production phases
- Oversee environmental, functional and system-level testing
- Drive continuous improvement in test processes, documentation, and test automation
- Partner cross-functionally for Systems, Electrical, Software, Mechanical, Manufacturing and Project Engineering, and Program Management teams
- Support customer reviews, audits, and compliance requirements
- Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
- Participate in the preparation of proposals
- Support capital equipment planning
- Ensure adherence to program schedules, budgets, and quality standards
- Develop hiring plans and build bench strength for future growth
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- 7+ years of engineering experience
- 3+ years of direct people management experience
- Experience with hardware-based systems testing in a regulated or defense environment
- Demonstrated ability to lead multi-disciplinary technical teams
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
