Job Summary

The Hardware Test Engineer will be responsible for performing requirements analysis, design, implementation, integration, verification, and validation of automated test equipment, manual test program sets, and embedded diagnostic test applications. Key responsibilities include developing and/or refining test procedures and reports, as well as designing and fabricating test fixtures for systems, assemblies, and circuit card assemblies.

Candidates should possess a strong foundation in electronics and software programming. This role is open to individuals with varying levels of experience, with titles and responsibilities adjusted accordingly.

Job Responsibilities

  • Analyze embedded military instrumentation and control systems to determine appropriate test methods
  • Design test environments including design or selection of test fixtures, test equipment, cables and components
  • Write detailed test procedures for qualification testing and/or production testing
  • Oversee execution of test strategies
  • Perform product qualification testing
  • Create test summary reports on testing performed
  • Revise all test documents as required to address all customer comments
  • Provide Design for Testability input during design reviews
  • Provide training and support to Manufacturing Test
  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status
  • Provide budget, cost and schedule input for assignments
  • Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
  • Ability to work with little supervision and to work cooperatively with all personnel in the organization
  • Responsible for completion of assigned tasks on time and on budget while meeting technical requirements
  • Strong hardware troubleshooting and software debugging skills
  • Must be able to analyze complex systems and create comprehensive test plans
  • Demonstration of proactive ownership of issues and problems
  • Supports, communicates, reinforces and defends the mission, values and culture of the organization

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering
  • Experience in Electrical or Test Engineering
  • Strong interpersonal abilities to effectively engage with the engineering community.
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, Visio, and PowerPoint.
  • Capable of working seamlessly with engineering teams across multiple product lines.
  • Skilled at managing and addressing multiple issues concurrently.
  • Experience with agile methodologies and tools like Jira.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Simulink, and Cameo.
  • Hands-on experience in areas such as purchasing, quality control, manufacturing engineering, and test.
  • Expertise in developing automated test and measurement systems using NI LabVIEW and TestStand.
  • Demonstrates diligence, adaptability, and a commitment to continuous learning.
  • Willingness to work off-shift hours as needed during testing phases.

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
