Job Summary
The Associate Test Engineering Technician supports technical activities in an Engineering Lab. The technician is responsible for debugging test hardware; fabricating, maintaining and certifying test fixtures; and troubleshooting both test equipment and product issues. Working closely with Engineering teams, the Test Engineering Technician helps ensure accurate test results, efficient test processes, and successful product validation.
Job Responsibilities
- Support the design, development, and execution of test programs to evaluate product functionality, reliability, and performance
- Write and execute test procedures and protocols to verify products meet specifications and performance standards
- Set up, conduct, and monitor tests on units, components, and systems
- Debug test hardware, test fixtures, and product issues
- Fabricate, assemble, and modify electrical and mechanical components, assemblies, and test fixtures
- Analyze test results, document findings, and recommend improvements to products or test methods
- Review project instructions, drawings, and specifications to determine test requirements and technical solutions
- Assist with design, build, and procurement of new or improved test equipment, tools, and fixtures
- Complete process documentation including work instructions, bill of materials, and route sheets
- Support engineering with routine technical tasks and hands-on troubleshooting
- Coordinate or support maintenance and equipment improvement projects
- Work independently on daily assignments while collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in electrical, electronics, or a related technical field preferred
- Prior experience with technical writing and documentation preferred
- Demonstrated hands-on technical aptitude with mechanical and/or electrical systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to read, interpret, and follow schematic diagrams and technical drawings
- Experience with common test and measurement equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, etc.)
- Experience with common hand and power tools
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented environment
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
