Job Summary
As a Senior Process Engineer, the successful candidate will be responsible for process development, integration, and sustaining activities for infrared wafer-level vacuum packaging. This role involves maintaining yields, managing material flow, process documentation, and troubleshooting fabrication processes internal to DRS as well as those of external suppliers. The applicant should have experience or knowledge in several of the following areas: semiconductor fabrication processes such as etching and cleaning, photolithography, automated optical inspection, metallization, plating, coatings, mechanical and optical dimensional measurement, interpreting mechanical and electrical drawings, and familiarity with motion control & vision systems.
Job Responsibilities
- Coordinate new product introduction or process development projects both internally and externally
- Provide timely status updates on all project milestones to stakeholders
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems, and implement corrective actions (RCCA) as needed
- Monitor and report on process or product yields, trends, and test results
- Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
- Stand up processes for product development and production
- Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products and equipment, and sustaining activities for fabrication and packaging operations
- Evaluate and recommend design approaches to meet production requirements for new or improved products or processes
Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in an applicable engineering field with 5+ years applicable engineering experience (or equivalent combination of education/training and experience)
- Able to work in Class 100 Clean Room for extended periods of time
- Knowledge of solvent clean and wet etch practices
- Experience with hermetic microelectronics packaging
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC) and statistical analysis
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
