Job Summary
Job Responsibilities
- Lead a team responsible for product development enhancing existing products and developing new products for a particular business area or the company in general
- Manage the entire product lifecycle from strategic planning to tactical activities
- Use industry knowledge, experience and market research to develop products that correlate with current customer and prospect customer needs
- Analyze market data including product specific sales, overall sales volume, and competitive product releases and pricing strategies for assigned product lines and recommend marketing objectives and strategies; and develop business case as a result
- May be responsible for managing more than one product line or a large product line for the company
- Work closely with cost accounting, marketing management, business development, and other functional areas as necessary in the development of pricing and cost recommendations
- Participate in the development of sales forecasts for use in production planning, manufacturing operations and for controlling inventories
- Responsible for product performance metrics to include revenue, P&L, and operational/marketing Key Process Indicators (KPIs)
- Oversee the development and generation of marketing reports as they pertain to the product line(s)
- Participate in trade shows and industry events, customer and prospective customer presentations and visits, product demonstrations and other similar events by presenting assigned product line(s)
- Keep current on technology and trends of product related knowledge
- Initiate and maintain strong relationships with customer. Serve as the primary interface for customers on business and technical issues
- Analyze potential partner relationships for product(s)
- Train and motivate sales representatives
- Work closely and collaborates with other key departments within the company to determine specific product and market requirements
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Support business plans, acquisitions, mergers, and divestitures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Job Responsibilities Part II
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred with at least seven years of related experience, and a minimum of 5 years of experience with direct product management responsibility
- Demonstrated business and technical acumen
- Proven ability to establish strategic direction and plan and drive accountability
- Thorough understanding of product development and engineering processes
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of Marketing Communications and Product Marketing
- Strong customer relationship skills
- Strong computer and organizational skills
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
