Senior Facilities Engineer

The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA.  EOIS develops, manufactures, and supports infrared and electro-optical solutions for soldiers, ground vehicles and airborne platforms.  We offer an exciting and challenging work environment, a competitive salary and benefits package, and a business culture that rewards performance.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for specific technical activity and completion of assigned tasks on time and budget related to the facility including design, construction, and maintenance projects.
  • May lead others on a technical activity or project.  
  • Use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments 
  • Champion projects of small to large size and complexity
  • Lead and direct the work of others as assigned or needed
  • Regular reporting of progress and status
  • Complete assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
  • Review customer specifications and requirements, and under direction, develop designs to best support them, including cost, schedule, and quality as key design variables
  • Provide budget, cost and schedule input for assignments
  • Troubleshoot Facility equipment
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Attend appropriate engineering, customer or business meetings
  • Lead less-experienced staff

Basic Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Bachelors Degree in Engineering or related technical field or equivalent experience and a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • Work is onsite at eh Dallas facility, no relocation available
  • Ability to work independently under minimal supervision of others
  • Fluency in Facilities Engineering and application domain knowledge
  • Semiconductor experience a plus.
