Job Summary
Provides direct engineering support to manufacturing operations. Performs design, fabrication, modification and/or evaluation of manufacturing operations Prepare plans, conduct support studies, and provide analysis or tests in the development of manufacturing operations May assign work to drafters and/or technicians. Responsible for equipment, process development, and sustaining activities for Infrared Sensor packaging operations. This job requires developing, documenting and maintaining processes for assembly of Infrared Sensors
Qualifications

• Education: Bachelors Degree in Mechanical / Manufacturing / Industrial Engineering
• Experience: 2+ years experience
• May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments
• Ability to work with minimum direction / supervision, regular reporting of progress and status
• Communicates clearly with other company personnel and customers as required
• Flexible and able to perform a wide variety of tasks and processes
• Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
• Reviews customer specifications and requirements, and under direction develops designs to best support them, including cost as a key design variable
• Supports the program design to cost and design for manufacture requirements
• Manufacturing engineering experience supporting custom mechanical integration.
• Manufacturing engineering experience supporting printed circuit board assembly development and or custom mechanical integration
• Experience working hand-in hand with development engineering during the concept stage of product development to implement design for manufacturing, design for test, and design for service concepts is strongly desired.
• Monitor and report on process yields, cycle time, and key WIP/Inventory levels
• Able to work in Class 100 Clean Room
Job Responsibilities
- • Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems and/or subsystems
• Specify and evaluate supplier components, subsystems and services
• Provide technical expertise and assistance to other engineers and support personnel
• Interact with technical management, other professionals, technicians and support personnel to coordinate, recommend and confer regarding technical activities and progress.
• Familiarity with analytical methods; ability to follow a DOE precisely and make sound decisions when deviations are identified
• Ability to read mechanical drawings and interpret GD&T
• Proficiency with electronic instruments and test equipment
• Ensure tools and equipment are within calibration and maintenance requirements.
• Lead solving complex equipment and material related issues, as well as assuming responsibility for identifying problems and implementing corrective action.
• Statistical Process Control
• Document Control and Change Management
• Developing training material / documentation
• Other duties as assigned
Desired Skills
• Working knowledge of DOE, SPC, and formal problem solving methods such as DMAIC
• Experience/familiarity with digital cameras and microscopes
• Experience with infrared imaging systems and opto-mechanical design
• Electronics packaging experience
• Understanding of advanced manufacturing and quality tools is desired

• Ability to conceive tooling and generate fabrication drawings using ProE and/or ACad
