The Electro Optical Infrared Systems (EOIS) line of business within DRS has locations in Dallas and Austin, TX, Melbourne, FL, and Cypress, CA. EOIS develops, manufactures, and supports infrared and electro-optical solutions for soldiers, ground vehicles and airborne platforms. Job Summary
Collaborate with and learn from experienced Software Engineers in our Electro-Optical & Infrared Systems line of business. Our Summer Internship Program offers a full-time, paid opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working in a culture defined by friendliness and teamwork at DRS. What sets us apart? Job Responsibilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Knowledge and experience with one or more programming languages (C, C++, or C#)
- Experience or classroom knowledge of formal data structure
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to work well both as part of a team or as an individual
- Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of software engineers
- Provide regular reporting of progress and status
- Gather and assemble data
- Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of software engineers
- Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Intern must be ranked as Junior or Senior in the academic standing
- Intern must be enrolled in the Electrical Engineering or Computer Science department
- Taken formal data structure class
- Must be enrolled in an accredited university and maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA
- U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position will require the ability to access US only data systems
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
