Job Summary
Collaborate with and learn from experienced Engineers in our Electro-Optical & Infrared Systems line of business. Our Summer Internship Program offers a full-time, paid opportunity to gain hands-on experience while working in a culture defined by friendliness and teamwork at DRS. What sets us apart? Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with and assist engineers in the conduct of various manufacturing engineering assignments
- Carry out basic work instructions
- Conduct limited scope testing under the supervision of engineers
- Complete assigned tasks on time
- Gather and assemble data for engineers
- Assist in creating and updating Mfg Assembly Instructions and Routes under engineering supervision
- Conduct design analysis and/or calculations under the supervision of engineers
- Assist engineers with appropriate design reviews and assembly processes
- Must have good interpersonal skills and have the ability to build a good network
- Perform a wide variety of tasks to gain familiarity with the engineering tasks, methods, programs and practices
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in a 4years engineering degree preferably in (ME, MFG,IE or EE)
- Be at least a Junior or Senior at the time of application with a 3.0 GPA or better.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to solve complex problems using your natural curiosity.
- Work effectively as a member of a team or on individual tasks.
U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
