Position Summary

Leonardo DRS is seeking a Test Engineer I to join our team in Cypress, CA. This position will be involved with the design and development of test programs to measure the functionality and integrity of products and
services.  Write test procedures and protocols to assess product reliability and evaluates the ability of products to meet performance standards and specifications.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support and participate in technical activity
  • Design, develop, analyze, document and support testing of products, systems or subsystems 
  • May use computer-aided engineering or other design/analysis software in the performance of assignments 
  • Ability to work independently under supervision of others
  • Provide regular reporting of progress and status
  • Responsible for completion of assigned task on time and meeting technical requirements
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and the customer as required
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications and Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related technical field
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment
  • Knowledge of Lab Equipment Operation (Oscilloscopes, DVM, Frequency Generators, etc.)
  • Strong skills with Matlab, Labview, and  MSOffice (Word and Excel)
  • Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Ability to obtain and retain a security clearance is required

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Knowledge of Optical Systems (cameras, telescopes, detectors) is a plus
  • Electrical circuit troubleshooting skills is a plus
  • Emphasis on Matlab scripting for automated data processing is a plus
  • Ability to lead a technical group independently
  • Ability to interact professionally and effectively at all levels of the organization

Working Conditions

  • Normal for an office environment. Work may require occasional weekend and/or evening work and local travel.

The expected pay scale for this position is $71,805/year - $102,682/year. Should the level, location, or scope of the position change during the hiring process, the pay scale may be modified accordingly. When extending an offer of employment, Leonardo DRS considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position; any Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, the candidate’s relevant work experience, education/training, certifications, and key skills; internal equity; and market and business considerations.
