 Title: Director, High Volume Manufacturing Operations

 

Position Summary: Direct all activities related to manufacturing operations. Ensure that manufacturing processes adhere to negotiated budgets and schedule and are in compliance with applicable quality and federal, state, and local regulatory requirements. This role is responsible for the overall performance of the manufacturing plant. You will work with the executive team to devise policy and strategy. You will direct and coordinate all production activities and ensure a company focus on safety, quality, and continuous improvement. In the role of Plant Operations Manager, you will work effectively across all divisions, provide leadership, and maintain a safety focused work environment

 

 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Direct and administer the activities related to manufacturing operations. Ensure that manufacturing process adhere to negotiated budgets and schedule and are in compliance with applicable quality and federal, state and local regulatory requirements
  • Manage the development and monitor execution of manufacturing schedules
  • Lead the development of product manufacturing processes, procedure, work instructions, and test instructions
  • Establish high-volume manufacturing operations, including evaluation and selection of facility locations, personnel requirements, personnel qualifications/skills, required capital infrastructure and organization
  • Review product Technical Data Packages to inform engineering team for improvements for design for producibility trades
  • Drive continuous improvement throughout the operation
  • Develop budgets and manage activities to accomplish financial objectives
  • Develop and implement short- and long-range objectives, consistent with company strategic initiatives
  • Participate in the preparation and/or review of proposals for new business based upon RFP/RFQ requirements
  • Coordinate operations and communications within, between, and among various functional areas
  • Ensure operations conform to the company’s policies and procedures, as well as federal, state, and local regulations
  • Establish, monitor, and ensure satisfactory customer and public relations, either through direct contact or delegation
  • Engage in the typical responsibilities or a manager requiring planning, evaluating, organizing, integrating, and controlling
  • May also have supervisory responsibility involving staffing, conducting performance appraisals, training and developing subordinates, promotions, salary increases, terminations, disciplinary actions, etc
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

 

Secondary Accountabilities:

  • Attend appropriate customer and business meetings
  • Ensure key performance objectives are measured, monitored, and improved
  • Actively participate on and lead group & corporate initiatives

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Expertise in the operations management of a high-volume manufacturing facility
  • Strong working knowledge of LEAN Manufacturing processes- 5S, Kaizen, Kan Ban, Continuous Improvement
  • Capable of understanding, reading, and evaluating company financials such as P&L’s, budgets, etc.
  • Strong strategic thinking abilities
  • Strong communication skills, high level of integrity and work ethic, and excellent organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations, engineering or related discipline with a minimum 10 years of related experience
  • Demonstrated performance implementing continuous improvement initiatives
  • Proven track record solving complex issues, driving risk assessments, root cause evaluations and red to green action planning

 

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting up to 10 lbs.: up to 25% of time  
  • Walking: up to 50% of time
  • Climbing, Bending, Standing, Stooping: up to 10% of time
  • Sitting: up to 50% of time
  • Travel: up to 10-25%% of time

   

AAC works on a 9/80 compressed schedule whereby employees work 80 hours in 2 weeks with every other Friday off.
