Job Summary

DRS Sustainment Systems Inc. is seeking a Full Time Master Scheduler. The ideal candidate will lead and execute tasks associated with Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) planning, development, execution and analysis. Analysis including reviewing scope and schedule performance.

Job Responsibilities

  • Define the schedule of a project or task
  • Support the Program Manager  in the creation of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and lead in the development of schedules (including resource loading) for identified WBS elements
  • Create program IMS using Microsoft Project Professional (MPP)
  • Create, publish, and maintain an IMS on a MS Project Server
  • Create and maintain multiple schedules in a fast paced environment
  • Maintain schedules by creating and distributing extract files from the IMS to each Control Account Manager (CAM)
  • Analyze schedules, perform Critical Path Analysis and provide critical path impact reports with recommended conflict resolution actions.
  • Advise management of risks that may affect project profit, cost and schedules
  • Review all subcontractor and vendor change requests and advises Program Managers of any schedule impact of proposed design changes
  • Manipulate and update schedules during meetings
  • Interact with Executive Senior Leadership
  • Respond to questions regarding milestones and changes
  • Provide weekly /monthly program status updates including Earned Value Performance as appropriate
  • Lead and train employees regarding the critically, development, and execution of the scheduling process
  • Assist teams in the use of MS Project Professional
  • Participate in Program Proposal process with Business Development team
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline with a minimum of 8 years of Program Planning & Scheduling utilizing Microsoft Project Professional
  • Expert knowledge of Microsoft Project Professional desired
  • Must understand the various contract types, i.e. Cost Plus, T&M, FFP and ensure that all requirements of the prime contract are understood
  • Successful track record as part of a Program / Project Management Team
  • Experience with Earned Value Management System (EV/ EVMS)
  • Experienced in Schedule Analysis.
  • Familiarity with PMI and related Project Management and Scheduling best practices
  • Demonstrated experience in using MS Office suite products (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
