Job Summary

Leonardo DRS Land Systems is seeking a full time Logistics Engineering Manager. This position is based out of our Bridgeton, MO facility and will have the option to work an in person or hybrid schedule. The Logistics Engineering Manager is responsible for supervising individuals who perform Logistics Product Support Analysis (PSA) maintenance planning, develop sustainment strategies and support documentation to include technical publications and training materials on time and within budget. Provides oversight during the design and development of logistics products to fulfill the stated and anticipated needs of customers.

Job Responsibilities

  • Supervise Logistics staff responsible for planning, developing and implementing logistics program activities from conceptual stage through life cycle of product including Integrated Logistics Support (ILS); Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA); Level of Repair Analysis (LORA); TM/TO development; technical documentation; Reliability, Availability, Maintainability (RAM); provisioning; spares; packaging; facilities; and training
  • Lead the Logistics team in alignment with DRS vision and values, effectively forecasting, prioritizing, and executing tasks to achieve company goals (bookings, revenue, operating income, and cash flow) within established cost, technical, and performance requirements
  • Serve as primary interface to Director of Logistics, Engineering & Logistics activity related to new business and program execution
  • Support company strategic plan development and creates complementary Logistics plan
  • Establish solid relationships with PM, Finance, Estimating, HR, BD, Supply Chain, Sub-Contracting, Quality
  • Attend Monthly Program Management Reviews
  • Attend Monthly New Business Reviews
  • Oversee performance, staffing, cost estimating, proposals, execution (cost, schedule, technical), personnel, and customer relationship management for all Logistics efforts
  • Monitor and understand market forces, customer needs, funding, and technical / support issues related to Logistics (Product sustainability / Technical Documentation)
  • Assist in driving improvements in Logistics competitiveness – overhead rates, efficiency improvements (developing and following appropriate processes)
  • Coordinate and manage individual development plans for assigned personnel in Logistics Engineering, Technical Writing/Author, Training Instructor, and Integrated Logistics Support Manager roles
  • Resolve logistics problems when they occur and advocates solutions to prevent recurrence
  • Communicate clearly and with impact, both in writing and orally, with Senior Leadership, Engineering, Program Management, supply chain, and manufacturing
  • Support, communicate, reinforce and defend the mission, values and development of the organization

Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required
  • Active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment is required
  • Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Software) or related technical field with 5+ years of experience in managing Logistics activities or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience managing/supervising direct reports, including delegating tasks, coaching, and overseeing performance
  • Management experience in developing Integrated Logistics Elements and knowledge of customer applications such as PowerLog J or SLIC for Logistics products
  • Proven management experience and expertise in preparing Product Support Analysis (PSA) data in accordance with Mil Std 1388-2a and 2b, and GEIA-STD-0007
  • Logistics professional certification (SOLE: DL, CML, CPL or CLEP: Apprentice, Journeyman, Master) or (PMI PMP) is desired
  • Excellent teambuilding and leadership skills
  • Good communications skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations (up to 10%).

U.S. Citizenship required. This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.

The salary range for this position is $93,121.00/year- $125,713.00/year for the state of Illinois. This range reflects the good faith estimate of pay the employer is willing to offer at the time of posting. Several factors can influence the pay scale, including but not limited to: Federal contract labor categories and contract wage rates, collective bargaining agreements, geographic location, business considerations, scope, and responsibilities of the position, local or other applicable market conditions, and internal equity. Other factors include the candidate’s qualifications such as prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education/training, and certifications. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for: annual performance-based bonuses, equity awards, and overtime pay (for non-exempt employees as applicable.
