As a Senior ILS Engineer, you will be a key player, reporting to the Engineering Manager and supporting our clients by leveraging your expertise in analyzing and interpreting engineering drawings, vendor documentation, design documentation, and other technical documentation. Your role is crucial in providing invaluable support to both internal and external customers, ensuring the seamless integration and functionality of systems.

As ILS Engineer, responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure compliance with all project logistics requirements
  • Participate in preparing proposal inputs concerning ILS, product support and reliability areas
  • Finalize and/or generate requested task hour estimates for review and approval
  • Prepare Reliability, Availability and Maintainability information for In-service Support
  • Assist with Life Cycle Cost Management and Maintenance Optimization
  • Lead Failure Modes and Effect Analysis (FMEA) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Lead Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA)
  • Analyze engineering change documentation to determine applicability and scope of effort on logistics support activities
  • Assist in the creation and management of ILS requirements, including technical manuals and other supporting documentation
  • Communicate clearly (written and oral) with manufacturing, supply chain, and the customer as required
  • Assist with part and component obsolescence

What you require to be successful in the role:

  • Ability to work with a team of engineers and technicians to complete a project or projects
  • Possession of a bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or similar from a recognized post secondary institution or equivalent work experience
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in ILS analysis in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with the application of military and commercial standards to electrical designs is preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to develop ILS and LSA plans
  • Experience preparing and entering data for, and supporting, a MIL-HDBK-502A application is considered an asset
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Microsoft Office Suite
  • Experience preparing FMEA, FMECA, and RCA
  • Knowledge of DND LCMM and Supply Support processes would be an asset
  • Previous experience in dealing with DND/Naval ILS requirements and policies would be an asset
