Job Summary

Job Responsibilities Part II

The Cyber Security intern will assist the Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT) with day-to-day administrative work and learn entry-level security analyst tasks such as alert triage/investigation, process testing and participate in team meetings.

Job Responsibilities

 

•    Perform professional administrative staff duties in support of functional areas, gradually increasing in level of difficulty and responsibility 
•    Contribute to the execution of projects and organizational objectives when asked 
•    Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
•    Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures
•    Review and update documentation for policies, processes, and playbooks
•    Review real world cyber security alerts, monitor for threats, analyze, and escalate to the CERT
•    Assist the CERT with tools including but not limited to SIEM, IPS, and email gateway protection.
•    Assist with suspicious email monitoring and remediation
•    Assist with vulnerability assessments and penetration testing for specific applications, services, networks, and servers as required.
•    Record and track incidents, including but not limited to compromised accounts, email threats, and abuse report.
•    Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED and completion of 1 semester of college
Communicate effectively orally and in writing
Effectively utilize standard office software and computer equipment
Proficient knowledge with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
