Job Summary
The Director of Marketing Communications will lead experience-driven initiatives that elevate our brand, engage customers and partners, and create measurable business impact across events and permanent environments. This role is responsible for building and delivering high-quality experiential programs such as executive engagements, customer demonstrations, industry events, sponsorship activations, thought leadership experiences and facility branding that strengthen relationships, reinforces our brand promise on-site, and support growth priorities.
Job Responsibilities
• Set the experiential strategy aligned to business development goals, campaign priorities, and market segments
• Design and deliver customer and partner experiences including executive conferences, facility tours and on-site engagements, product demos, trade shows, and mission-focused events
• Partner with Business Development to support capture and pipeline acceleration through tailored engagements and account-based experiences
• Develop experience narratives that translate complex offerings into clear, compelling stories and moments—across live programming, demonstrations, and physical spaces
• Create playbooks and standards for planning, messaging, run-of-show, briefing materials, brand compliance, and post-event follow-up
• Lead facility branding strategy for customer-facing and employee-facing areas to ensure spaces reflect brand standards and support key messaging
• Establish and govern standards for on-site brand execution, including templates/specs for signage, print production, installation guidelines, digital displays, and durability/maintenance expectations
• Partner with Facilities, Security, IT/AV, Operations, and site leadership to plan and execute facility branding upgrades, ensuring alignment with visitor flow, clearance requirements, safety, and operational constraints
• Lead integrated execution with internal stakeholders (program leadership, engineering, operations, security, HR, legal, facilities) and external vendors/agencies
• Manage budgets and vendors, including venue strategy, production, experiential design, fabrication/installation, and event technology platforms
• Establish measurement and reporting tied to outcomes (lead generation, pipeline influence, engagement, attendance, media/social impact, customer satisfaction)
• Ensure risk and compliance alignment for on-site engagements (visitor protocols, security requirements, approvals, accessibility, safety)
• Lead and develop a team and/or a network of site/event leads to scale experiences and facility branding consistency across locations
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience
• 15+ years of experience in experiential marketing, corporate events, integrated marketing, communications, or customer engagement programs
• Demonstrated ability to deliver high-stakes, executive-level experiences with strong attention to detail
• Strong partnership skills with Business Development and senior leaders; ability to influence without authority
• Excellent writing and storytelling—able to turn technical concepts into audience-first messaging
• Experience with agency/vendor management, production workflows, and budget ownership
• Comfort using data to prove impact and improve performance (KPIs, dashboards, post-event insights)
• People leadership experience, with a calm, solutions-first approach
Will require travel for executive engagements, site visits, tradeshows and events
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in B2B, mission-critical, or regulated environments (e.g., aerospace/defense, industrial, tech, energy)
• Familiarity with account-based marketing and capture support
• Experience supporting multi-site event programs and secure facility engagements
• Hybrid work with 3 days required to be in the office in Arlington, VA
